MiR Brings its Full Portfolio of Safe and Effective Mobile Robots at CIIF 2019
The MiR1000 robot, rated for heavy loads and pallets of up to 1 ton, makes its public debut in China
Shanghai – September 18, 2019 – Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), Denmark’s fastest-growing robot manufacturer and a global market leader in mobile robotics, will showcase its safe, flexible, and easy-to-use autonomous mobile robot (AMR) solutions at the China International Industry Fair 2019 (CIIF). Making its public debut in Booth A001, Hall 8.1 will be the MiR1000 robot, which can carry heavy loads and pallets weighing up to 1 ton.
Thomas Visti, CEO of MiR, said, “This is our second time participating in CIIF, so it’s a great opportunity to showcase our MiR1000 robot, one of the industry’s largest autonomous mobile robots to date. This event marks its first public demonstration in China and across the Asia-Pacific region. The introduction of MiR1000 is in line with the human-machine collaboration megatrend currently overtaking the global manufacturing industry, while meeting market demand for advanced intralogistics solutions. Technological innovation is our focus, and we are recognized across the industry for developing safe and reliable mobile robots that facilitate human-machine collaboration. MiR remains as committed as ever to offering new solutions for driving innovation in internal logistics efficiency."
Emil Hauch Jensen, MiR’s Vice President of Sales China, added, “Indeed, MiR views safety as the cornerstone of technological development and market expansion, and the booming Chinese market is a key focus for MiR. To this end, we have made considerable inroads into the local market to help local industries, such as the electronics, manufacturing, and automobile industries, optimize internal logistics efficiency. MiR provides the world’s latest cutting-edge AMRs, which deliver benefits that raise production automation levels for our customers.”
The MiR1000 robot was one of the highlights for MiR at CIIF 2019. Since its launch in April 2019, MiR1000 has attracted a great deal of attention in the industry for its ability to automatically pick up, transport, and deliver pallets and other heavy loads weighing up to 1,000 kg across dynamic environments. It is a collaborative, safe, and flexible alternative to potentially dangerous and expensive forklifts on the factory floor. MiR1000 meets the need for both heavy and light transportation, optimizing logistics throughout the entire production chain, from the warehouse to the delivery of goods.
At the MiR booth, visitors were able to interact with a full range of MiR robotics solutions, which comply with the industry's most stringent safety standards. Also on show was the MiRFleet fleet management software, which brings even greater efficiency and value to any MiR fleet by allowing users to simultaneously manage and direct up to 100 MiR robots from a central workstation. In addition to MiR1000, MiR offers a full range of other AMR solutions, including MiR500, MiR200, and MiR100, which are rated for 500, 200, and 100 kg loads respectively. Each offers its own advantages, and is uniquely suited to different objectives. MiR robots can safely enhance efficiency in logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, medical, and other fields across the globe, satisfying the complexity of internal logistics across a diverse range of applications.
Besides developing the world’s most cutting-edge robot technologies at present, MiR is always looking to the future, with a commitment to developing mobile robot technologies that better meet the expectations of internal logistics applications. In view of rapid advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology, MiR is continuously exploring ways to incorporate AI technology into mobile robotics. We recently published a whitepaper titled ‘Artificial Intelligence Drives Advances in Collaborative Mobile Robots’, which shows how AI can help mobile robots distinguish between different obstacles to enhance safety and improve internal logistics.
Since entering the Chinese market in 2017, MiR has prioritized its development there. We have achieved important milestones on the strength of our excellent technical advantages, embedded diversified applications, and keen industry foresight. Market expansion remains a strong focus in 2019 as we gradually build and expand our sales channels throughout the country. Through a series of active engagement initiatives, such as technical training, industry seminars, insightful publications, and more, MiR endeavored to help our market partners understand the safety advantages of MiR robots, driving the promotion and wider application of AMR robots safely and efficiently across China.
To learn more about the safety features and wide-ranging applications of the MiR robot family, we warmly invite everyone to visit MiR’s exhibition Booth A001 at Hall 8.1 of the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai) during CIIF 2019, which runs from September 17 to 21, 2019.
About Mobile Industrial Robots
Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR) develops and markets the industry’s most advanced line of collaborative and safe autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) that quickly, easily and cost-effectively manage internal logistics, freeing employees for higher-value activities. Hundreds of mid-sized through large multinational manufacturers and logistics centers, along with several hospitals around the world, have already installed MiR’s innovative robots. MiR has quickly established a global distribution network in more than 40 countries, with regional offices in New York, San Diego, Singapore, Frankfurt, Barcelona and Shanghai. MiR has grown quickly since its founding in 2013, with sales rising by 500% from 2015 to 2016, and 300% from 2016 to 2017 and 2017 to 2018.
Founded and run by experienced Danish robotics industry professionals, MiR is headquartered in Odense, Denmark, and in April 2018 was acquired by American company Teradyne, the leading supplier of automated test equipment. In 2015, Teradyne also acquired the Danish company Universal Robots. Due to its growth results the last years, Mobile Industrial Robots was awarded EY Entrepreneur of The Year in Denmark in 2018.
