Fleet of MiR AMRs support Faurecia in their journey towards higher efficiency and digital transformation

At the Stadthagen plant of Faurecia, the employees who used to carry out manual transport usually covered a distance of 8-10 kilometres per shift. The factory has now taken a major step on the road for digital transformation by implementing MiR500 robots and MiR200 Hook to completely automate the transportation of frame parts and save the employees valuable time.

3 Benefits

The autonomous technology of the MiR robots was the main reason for implementing these AMRs. The robots navigate without using rigid magnetic tapes or other guidance, like traditional AGVs, and the agility and flexibility that the autonomy adds to work processes was needed in Faurecia's digital transformation.

The solution provided by MiR is able to interface to other systems, and this has enabled Faurecia to automate the entire workflow of transporting parts: "Another innovation of the project is the automated generation of transport orders, which do not have to be entered manually by employees but are generated via sensors at the loading and unloading points" says Hartmut Beisner, Implementation Leader. "A controller then transfers them to the MiR Fleet management system. The MiR Fleet coordinates and distributes the orders to the three AMRs in our logistics and production areas".

Faurecia has developed it's own top module that handles the loading and unloading of parts. MiR provides flexible robot platforms where the top module can easily be mounted on top and add value to Faurecia processes.

The implementation of automation transportation with AMRs is a milestone on our way to shaping the future through digital transformation
