MiR wins EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2018 on Funen
Among the 23 participating companies, MiR was yesterday evening awarded with the prize for EY Entrepreneur of the Year on Funen.
"This year's winner is a first mover and is also supporting other businesses grow. They are helping companies worldwide automate and optimize their production, and MIR is an active part of a positive environment where they inspire others and lead new ideas into life, said Brian Skovhus Jakobsen, Partner in EY and responsible for the award on Funen. The jury with Søren Skovbølling as chairman expressed it as follows: "MIR is a leading manufacturer of collaborative mobile robots for internal transport and has created a whole new industry in Denmark, which is well on its way to becoming a global growth adventure."
At MiR, we are very proud to receive this award: "We are very honored, it's a huge recognition. It has been a challenging but extremely exciting journey so far", said MIR's CEO and founder, Thomas Visti, when he received the prize.
"We are proud to create jobs, we currently have 125 employees - which is more than twice as many than in the beginning of the year. This month, we have converted four times as much as we did throughout 2015," he said. Founder of MIR and CSO, Niels Jul Jacobsen, who received the award together with Thomas Visti, supplemented: "Being part of the Odense robotics cluster, we have created an environment of knowledge, respect and capital. A few years ago, it was difficult to be a robot manufacturer in Denmark, but today we are highly respected - especially abroad. We are proud."
